Project overview
CSL Behring engaged GPS Electrical Services to install the Project Genesis and Bay 5 Utility expansion projects. Our team demonstrated exceptional project management and technical skills by overcoming challenges such as tight scheduling within an existing plant and coordinating with multiple trade groups in a dense workspace.

Through efficient use of offsite build time, we minimized onsite construction and disruption to ongoing operations.

Additionally, our team ensured the compliant installation of the field PROFINET Network, a crucial component for the project's overall success. As a result, we delivered a successful project that met and exceeded CSL Behring's expectations.

Key challenges
The Project Genesis and Bay 5 Utility expansion presented several unique challenges that demanded meticulous planning, coordination, and adaptability. Establishing a strong partnership with CSL Behring was essential to ensure the timely completion of the proposed works.

Working within a commissioned plant necessitated careful scheduling of our activities, as we had to work around plant availability. This included executing significant infrastructure modifications within a narrow 3-day shutdown window, which demanded efficient use of resources and close collaboration with plant personnel.

The Level 1 plant space was densely populated, requiring us to navigate and cooperate with multiple trade groups and plant operations simultaneously. We strategically planned work fronts to balance the demands of the project, while also prioritising safety and work quality. This approach allowed us to meet our committed deadlines without compromising on any aspect of the project.

Project outcomes
Our diligent project management and technical expertise resulted in a well-executed expansion that satisfied CSL Behring's requirements. As a consequence of our strategic planning, effective collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, we completed the electrical installation for Project Genesis and the Bay 5 Utility expansion within the stipulated time-frame.

We optimised offsite build time by working with CSL and Skid Fabricators to wire up CIP & Tank Temperature Control Skids at the fabricator's factory, minimising onsite build time.

We also ensured the compliant installation of the field PROFINET Network, integrating seamlessly with CSL's control system, which utilised Siemens DCS, Siemens VSDs, Siemens CFU, and P&F IO-Link hardware
