Project overview
In July 2019, GPS Electrical Services embarked on the ambitious Project Aurora Tank Farm electrical installation for CSL Behring. GPS delivered on-time, high-quality outcomes by overcoming the challenges of installing for a hazardous area and ensuring equipment longevity given the corrosive conditions.

Our outstanding performance led to further collaboration on two additional Tank Farm expansions, solidifying a fruitful partnership with CSL Behring.

GPS not only met the project's strict deadlines but also overcame the unique challenges associated with working in hazardous environments, such as the presence of flammable and corrosive substances. Our team focused on ensuring the longevity and durability of the installed equipment by selecting materials and components that could withstand the harsh conditions of the Tank Farm environment.

Our outstanding performance and ability to address complex challenges led to further collaboration with CSL Behring on two additional Tank Farm expansions, solidifying a fruitful and lasting partnership that showcased our expertise in delivering reliable and efficient electrical services.

Key challenges
Navigating the complexities of working in a live Tank Farm containing flammable and hazardous substances demanded strict adherence to Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) controls, Fire Isolation Plans as well as innovative solutions like cold cuts to avoid hot works in a hazardous area.

Additionally, the Tank Farm and Trade Waste Plants were located outdoors, exposing the electrical installations to corrosive environments and harsh elements. To overcome this challenge, our team had to carefully select equipment and installation methods that would ensure durability and minimize the risk of corrosion-related issues throughout the lifespan of the installed systems.

Moreover, rectifying hazardous area non-compliance defects in an overseas-built skid presented another obstacle. Our team needed to identify the discrepancies, devise appropriate solutions, and implement the necessary modifications to bring the skid into compliance with the required safety standards.

Project outcomes
Through unwavering dedication and expertise, GPS Electrical Services successfully met these challenges and delivered the Project Aurora Tank Farm electrical installation within the tight deadlines set by CSL Behring. Our team's ability to navigate complex situations, adapt to unique challenges, and maintain a steadfast commitment to safety and quality contributed to the project's success.

This achievement led to GPS Electrical Services being awarded two subsequent Tank Farm expansions by CSL Behring, further strengthening the partnership between our two organizations. These additional projects provided an opportunity to showcase our team's expertise in handling intricate electrical installations, our adaptability in addressing diverse challenges, and our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional results that meet and exceed client expectations.

The ongoing relationship between CSL and GPS is a testament to our ability to consistently deliver high-quality electrical services, even in the face of demanding project requirements and challenging environments. We are proud of our accomplishments and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with CSL Behring in the future.
